CORNELIA GAFIU
With a solid background in political science research, NGOs and media relations skills, Cornelia joined Links Associates in 2008 to deliver advice and support to a number of clients through preparing strategies on communications and public affairs. Cornelia currently provides support to a range of clients with projects having a social or a cultural patrimony dimension. For the last year, Cornelia was also in charge with the redesign of the company’s website and continues to work on its development. As part of the research team, Cornelia is providing constant political analysis and strategic directions for the organization development.
Prior to becoming a consultant for Links Associates, Cornelia had a PhD grant and worked as researcher for the Free University of Brussels. Her research interest was focused on the selection of local political elites with a particular study on the conversion of former communist elites after the 1989 regime breakdown. She has also a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and a Master Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Bucharest.
In addition, Cornelia also worked for the Bucharest Office of the German Marshall Fund where she was involved in the launching of the Black Sea Trust grant making program. During her work with German Marshall Fund, Cornelia also participated at the organization of some major international events, like the Bucharest Conference, the preparing event of the Bucharest NATO Summit and the Brussels Forum, events that gathers yearly top political and economical leaders worldwide.
