GEORGE BADESCU

George joined Links Associates in 2010 as Public Affairs Consultant and has an expert understanding of the workings of governance in Romania. He provides government relations support, public affairs advice and political analysis to a range of clients covering different sectors: mining, banking, retail and the alcohol industry. He oversees day-to-day legislative field operations for Links Associates clients and maintains solid relationships with political operatives from major parties in the Parliament.

George has long been involved in complex legislative and regulatory advocacy, good governance and home affairs projects, both as senior independent lobbyist and Senior Counsellor at the US Embassy in Romania. During this period, George has managed important public policy campaigns, drawing on his political experience to bring an integrated approach to devise effective strategies for clients at Links Associates.

Prior to his experience with the US Embassy, George was in charge with the corporate affairs and governmental relations at Philip Morris Romania. Earlier in his career, George worked as editor and correspondent for foreign news department at the Romanian National Television.
