Pushing back boundaries
Thales Romania is at the heart of a breakthrough scientific project which promises to open up knowledge about the universe through ultra-powerful lasers. Thales is providing ELI-NP (Extreme Light Infrastructure Nuclear Physics) center in Magurele, Bucharest with the most powerful laser in the world which experts expect to push back the frontiers of physics and to open up a magic box of countless breakthroughs in many fields, from revolutionary cancer treatments to nuclear waste disposal.
Professor Nicolae Zamfir, coordinator of the project (right in the photo below), has worked closely with Silviu Agapi (middle), Thales General Manager in Romania, to make sure that all details of the pioneering laser system are being implemented. They both share with the world this amazing journey together.
